哈利梅根宣布退出英國王室 白金漢宮：拎阿嬤很失望！

英國王室的一舉一動備受社會關注，特別是在影音串流平台 Netflix 推出熱門電視劇《王冠》描述伊莉莎白二世的生平後，英國王室再次成為大眾的熱門話題。繼承順位第六的薩塞克斯公爵哈利，偕同公爵夫人梅根拋出了震撼彈，表示退出英國王室「資深成員」，將淡出大眾的視野退至幕後。

根據兩人的官方 Instagram 聲明，「經過幾個月的深思熟慮和內部討論，我們決定將今年當作過渡期，希望漸漸地能在王室中發展一個新的角色。」公爵夫妻檔表示，將會退出王室資深成員（ “senior” members ），努力實現財務獨立，但仍然會繼續全力支持女王陛下。」

We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. 有消息指出，哈利和梅根兩人在作出此決定前，沒有諮詢其他王室成員，兩人的聲明一出，令白金漢宮裡的君主深感失望。

白金漢宮幾個小時後發布了聲明，內容寫道「和公爵、公爵夫人兩人的討論目前仍在初步階段。我們對他們希望發展不同方向的想法十分理解，但是這些問題十分複雜，需要花費一些時間來解決。」這份聲明暗示，這公爵夫妻未來很有可能擁有較多的私人空間。

未來，薩塞克斯公爵夫婦計畫在英國和加拿大兩地居住，他們認為居住地的分配，能夠讓兒子阿奇（ Archie ）了解皇室傳統，也能同時保有私人空間，使一家人能夠專注於進入生命的下一個章節，包括開始新的慈善事業。

英國皇室的資深成員時常要幫助伊莉莎白女王，包括出席外交宴會、巡視海外領土等，同時全世界的鎂光燈也緊跟在後。外界分析，王儲的決定可能與成長過程中飽受狗仔騷擾，以及與兄長的嫌隙有所關聯，鑑於王室開銷是由大眾所資助，哈利追求財務獨立實際上是在保障個人生活，並且降低大眾對公爵一家的反對聲浪。
